HERE'S CHAPTER TWO .

CHAPTER TWO
1st October 2097

I flung open my wardrobe, grabbing the largest luggage bag I had in there.
I grabbed the nicest clothes I had, from my collection of clothing in the wardrobe. Most of them were thick clothing that I needed to survive in the drastic weather outside; Undoubtedly. I mean, who would wear a singlet or bikini out there? I'd shower them with a round of applause if they did.

I shut my luggage and left it on my bed. I walked towards the entrance of the sealed cavern, my humble abode. I was momentarily bamboozled. Out there, it was snowing. Literally. A country that used to be on the equator itself; a country stuck between the Tropic of Cancer and Capricorn. Snowing? Impossible.

I pushed open the acrylic-glass door, of which hadn't been opened for the past two years. Fresh air immediately rushed into the cave. I walked on, invulnerable to the chilly weather. It was my first time in contact with real snow.
I felt a sense of relief within my heart, as if there was still hope for the human population to retake the lands of mother earth again.

Infrastructure and amenities the country once had have all subsided, into the realms of the underworld. I could no longer make out the city's skyline. This land was barren. No traces of water and food were visible. Agriculture and crops had all died off. It was just like two hundred years back. A fishing village Singapore was once known as. I'd say, it's probably worst than a fishing village. A land of empty promises; how would I survive out here? Damn right: Peanuts.

I tracked my footsteps back to the cavern, where I slipped on a sweater and got my luggage. Buh-bye to this cavern. I'd probably be back ten years later, or so. I strolled through the white snow. It was like a winter wonderland, totally white. I wondered what was going on in other parts of the world. Perhaps a civil war. Then again, the possibility of me as the sole survivor was there. That would be boring. The last person on earth. Tedious life.

Darkness engulfed the whiteness. I was chilled to the bone, just by attempting to slumber. Here's an alliteration: freaking freezing. I opened my luggage and used the contents within as a blanket. That great discrepancy. Whew.

I shall probably post on yesterday's events, I guess.
A solemn occasion.

I overslept, yes.
I wasn't planning to sleep, but I did gave in, at three in the morning.

And I woke at 5.30am.

Rushed my way there. Took 858 alone to the airport.

And when I heard your voice on the phone, I looked outside the window.

There was this bittersweet feelings in me, unique and unusual. But yeah, there was the airport's control tower.

And yes, the time was 7.55 as I recalled it.

I remember I reached the last three minutes before you entered that gate, two before you broke into tears, one before I went over and hugged you.

I hope you'll come back one day, and we'll all reunite.

You've been the greatest impactful person (I'll probably say) this entire year.

Thanks a lot for everything.

I remember the times when we were having that study group thing.

It's cool how time changes. You were different then.

Your name will be inscribed, engraved, etched (whatever and how long the adjective list runs) in my memory.

CHAPTER ONE
30th September 2097

My parents had vanished as well; their whereabouts unknown. Memories of the last day we had together flashed through my mind.

"Honey, we're going outside to get food. Stay here!" My mum shouted, as I was in my room, in our family's 5-room-flat. The door slammed shut and I sat, in front of my laptop, absorbed by the genre of Korean Pop. Almost an hour had passed, before everything went chaotic.

My computer screen went out, followed by my room, and the entire flat. I was astounded; my mind a blank.

Loud crackles of thunder shook the sky. The sound of raindrops pelting against the windows broke the momental silence. Strong gusts of wind hit against the windows, to the extent of causing cracks on it.

I screamed, at the top of my lungs. Not Singapore, no. Impossible.

Living in the central area of Singapore; a bustling commercial area, I could see the city's beautiful skyline from my home.

But it was unusually magnificent today. I caught sight of two rainbows intercepting each other. Apart from that of course, everything was chaotic.

The city was shrouded in total fog. The gloom felt ominous. A terrible omen indeed. Global warming. The consequences were here, right before my very eyes.

Tears filled my eyes as I snapped out of reminiscence. I sat in my room, underground. Alone. I had lived here for two years. Suffering from misery despite freedom. The apocalypse would probably be all over by now. Bittersweet feelings engulfed my heart. I could probably write a letter to the human race now. "Dear humans: Are you having fun enduring survival? If so, do send a letter back."

I haven't stepped out of the outside world, undoubtedly, since the two years had passed. I mean, who would? I couldn't recall how I got here. How I escaped my home itself. How everything was nicely built for me here. Questions aroused my curiousity every now and then. Was this the start of a new generation? A new form of living thing? But no, I wouldn't say that I was the only sole survivor on this blue planet.

I had survived on dehydrated food supplies; peanuts. I had my own filtration system underground here; my own drinkable water system. And yes, after two years, the peanuts were going low. I had to restock.

Exiting the haven where I was deemed invulnerable was a death choice. There were slim chances of survival out there. Maybe dinosaurs returned. Maybe it's a new piece of land up there. Maybe it's snowing. I wouldn't know. There was no WiFi down here.

But one day, I had to go. My current food supply would probably last me a few weeks, two months perhaps; three at maximum. I sat on my bed, wishing that I could be free once more. That the world could heal itself back. That humans could again dominate the planet, though not harm it by any means. I shut my eyes. Things like these could never again happen. No way.

The rain poured unhesitantly, slowly. No more than a few thousand species of plants existed to absorb the rainwater and to balance our Earth's water cycle. No more. The beautiful Earth we once knew, it had all vanished. Earth has become a planet almost inhabitable.

I fainted.

I could hear deafening screams. The sound of fire siren. Buildings were collapsing.

1045. Went with Jerraye to Sg on 950. Met with Fengkun & Hazzen @ Mac. Had brunch and went to meet up with the rest.

1320. Reached WestCoast. Went to play beach.

1440. Went to McDonald with some. Drank Caramel Frappe<3 Gotta thank KaiLi for intro-ing it. Haha. With 5 bucks Oreo Cheesecake. Fking Ex. But yeah. Afterwards went to walk around the park. ChaoPeng childishly chasing chickens. Hahha. (Four words starting with 'C' used consecutively)

1630. Walked around WestCoast again, like Nature Reserve sia.

1830. Left and walked to Bowling Alley.

2015. Ended !

Just a brief summary, in chronological order. But the time may be wrong. Didn't really keep track. But yeah . Pictures on facebook . Lazy post here.

so , i woke up at 7.30 with two alarms.

off-ed both of them, went back to lie on the bed, till it was like, 8.20

And yes, i left home at 8.38am.

yeah, and Vin was ahead of me by a good thirty steps.

And Joan wasn't far ahead of us.

Yes, so united.

So, went to sectional room.

And Jinxiang was there, fixing the ZYS i was allocated to use ;P

Nearly the entire sectionals was fixing. LOL

Gotta thank Jinxiang, Qingye, Melvin and TingLeong for fixing. LOLs. although it isn't mine.

Happy 6th Birthday to Marsiling Chinese Orchestra ! ♥

Well well . Met with Ivy, Darren & ShiNi @ Causeway. Went to eat LongJohn. (Yes, very tempted to eat. But yeah, cough's killing me. So yeah, ta-da.) And the two Darren-s apparently sat there, watching the other two girls eat.

Met with ZhiKai and the other MCO crews @ Boots'N'Shoes. Took bus to chalet.

Arrived at around 4pm+ ; well, forgot the timing.

So, we had to form groups. And; presenting our group: "SUPERSENIORS" - Darren Eng; Darren Tan :D ; Joan ; Shen Yu ; Jasmine Soo ; Qing Ye ; Wahida.

Ice-breaking games (Basically, no more ice to break) . Played some simple, yet quite entertaining games.

Then came the Amazing Race stuff. They had this kidnapper system stuff (designed to kidnap group members, etc, etc...)

And our group, as told by Carrine, is the "very famous nobody kena caught group"

So, lots of fun moments:D

Practiced cheer. Hah, yes, cool cheer :X Ate afterwards. Served Buffet. I took thirds, even. But yeah, portions're small.

Slacked slacked. Peeps all went home. Left around 12-14 people. So, chatted with Darren & Xinyi in one of the rooms. For 3 hours. I slept at 2+

Yes, woken at 0630=.= by Goh Xin Yi. Went to bathe. Bathe finish went to the kitchen to grab some breakfast. BREAD:D (yeah, something must be wrong with me to be delighted to be eating bread for breakfast) Well, with grape jam. There was Nutella on the table. TEMPTATION. Fudging cough, go away.

Left at around 0740 with Darren and Xinyi. Was raining then. Sucks much. Took bus to Tampines Interchange, then took MRT to City Hall, and then MRT to Woodlands, and then took 901 from Woodlands to school. Yes, long journey.

Reached school at around 0945. And we were all wearing some weird comb. of clothes. I was wearing Class Tee w/ school shorts, Xinyi was wearing PE attire, casual shorts, slippers. All went to change.

CO Room opened at approximately 1010 . Went in to slack. Slack till 1130. Went with Joan, JinXiang, Nicholas, Xinyi, Darren to Vista foodcourt.

Ate.

Back-ed at around 1pm. Had few combines with Joan and Choon Hup taking turns to be conductor. Was freezing in CO Room. Crazy cold. Was hugging my sleeping bag all throughout. My sleeping bag was on the wanted list. All the peeps were like "LEND ME!!" Yeah, *hugs tighter*

Went to rehearsal at around 3+. Yes, just going through the day's events quickly. Rehearsal sucked again. Lots haven't memorised score. Neither have I, to be honest. Dismissed, after more good news of reporting at 11.15 am tomorrow (When we were supposed to be meeting at 1pm instead)

Went home ALONE:X (Yeah, lonely~)

the worst day ever, this year.

Morning , health checkup . backbone revealed to be slightly curved, so yeah. sad.

Helped the nurses with a few errands, including deliverying "letters" to various classes. Went with Chao Peng.

Halfway through, fire alarm rang. Was told it was caused by Keith, yes, major business in 2e1 again . We've done it , yet again , another record broken . Ms Sim would be so proud.

After school , Mr Tan and Mr Ng came up to address the matter.

Chairmeh's fired again, had to do explanation. Tsk, tsk.

Literature ; Com Labs taken by upper sec , so in class . Some of the peeps were counting Rhoda's "Umm" , and it reached a hundred. (BEAT MS WONG'S BASICALLY! GOSH) . Lots of reflection letter talks . Yeah , totally flunk my lit test .

Went for IVP meeting @ Genesis Labby . MrKumar went through some of the merits for the award, most of which were simple "liddat also can win ah?" ideas.

Grouped with Brenda, FengKun . Enelton, Sab and Rachel's on the other team .

Went for CO Sectionals. Due to Oral taking place at Fourth & Second floor , sectionals restricted to first floor. Happy New Year, it's my first time on the ground floor. De Li's absent again . Went through Tong Nian De Hui Yi . yeah . Lots of fun . De Li made a guest appearance towards the end, said that he came to only pass something to MrLow . Crap.

english ; got results . overall for term one . EFFFFFFFF. Lets put this in narrative form.

As the results of the first eighteen register numbers, all girls, were shown, I stared in shock at the top scorer's results in class. No doubt, an A1 was written next to the total marks. Apart from that, no one else got an A1. At least I had hope. The AVA Rep shifted the paper downwards, I got really agitated.

Right before my eyes, my results were there, staring back at me. I stared at the weak fourteen I got for my common test. Ah, hell. And I shifted my eyes to the total marks.

today's considered a great day for all peeps of wgs, i'd say.

- early recess

- free screening of "Up" @ Hall with surround speakers & airconditioning .
- no detentions, CCA's ('cept for Basketball, Soccer), CCMs, any after-school activities
- early dismissal

the only darn disadvantage for today ;

- heatstroke for all students @ the field.
